BOOMERANG
Twenty students took a first step.
At BOOMERANG in the Grand Haven High School Field House, students didn’t just hear about careers — they started toward one. One student handed over a résumé. Fifty took the story home.
We learned something simple at our booth: nobody scans alone. A student steps forward when a real person invites them. That’s why we show up, stand at the table, and start the conversation.
Thank you to the Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and Ferrysburg Chamber of Commerce and Natalie Rufener for hosting BOOMERANG — and to Becky Newman of Walk the Beat, a foundation whose mission is to contribute to public school music programs through the Spread the Music Foundation Fund.
Walk the Beat stands as one of our charities. The door stays open to the causes our students and community carry — and right now, we’re moving forward with Walk the Beat: students earning, learning, and helping carry music forward in our public schools.
Students: your path in can start with an internship, job shadowing, project work, or the affiliate path.
