Why this exists
After high school, I had a trade in my hands and no idea where I fit. Nobody was coaching me — and many times, people fail because they are not coached.
It's the same on both sides of the counter today. Students need real work, real skills, and real income — not another lecture. Local businesses need help keeping up — the reviews, the bookings, the phones — and can't hire an agency to do it.
So we built the bridge. Students get coached to do real work for real businesses. Businesses get the tools and the help. The community gets stronger. That's the why — the money below is just how the bridge pays the people who walk it.
What the product is
When a student signs a business up, that business gets the RezConnect platform — Advanced Intelligence tools that answer, book, and follow up: review requests that keep fresh reviews flowing · appointment booking · missed-call text-back · follow-up automations · social posting · and Angie, the voice agent who answers and books, day or night.
Plus the part no software company ships: a trained local student, coached by us, practicing good stewardship inside the business.
Part One · The Foundation
Mailbox Money
Every active $97/month merchant subscription splits three ways, every month, for as long as the merchant stays active:
| 5 merchants | $200/month to you |
| 10 merchants | $400/month to you |
| 20 merchants | $800/month to you |
The annual plan: on the $997/year plan the split is $400 to you / $97 to Walk the Beat / $500 to the platform — and the merchant saves $167 versus monthly.
Part Two · Why It Matters
The Mission Cut
Your $7 at work. On monthly plans, $7 of every subscription goes to Walk the Beat — $84 a year, every year the merchant stays. On the annual plan that gift becomes $97 a year. You earn, and the mission moves — that's the design.
“Many times people fail because they are not coached. Here, you won't.”
— Michael Rutherford, Founder
Beyond the Mailbox
The Climb
The mailbox is where everybody starts — it is not where the story ends. Three steps up:
Step 1
Mailbox Money
$40 a month for every active merchant. It shows up whether you lift a finger or not. This is the floor — everybody starts here.
Step 2
Project Money
Paid work on top of the split — websites, review systems, screen networks, event builds. One venue project can scope at $10,000. You do the work, you get paid for the work.
Step 3
The Agency Level
Your own team. Your own accounts. Your own agency, built on the platform.
The Honest Part
This level isn't handed to anyone. It doesn't come without investment — your time, and your money, into your own business. That's not fine print. That's life. The mailbox got you started. The climb is what you build.
Part Four · The Multiplier
The Venue Deal
One venue deal, split four ways — $10,000 a year:
Merchants fund it. Students run it. The community sees it.
The Ecosystem
How It All Fits
You don't build this alone, and you don't start from zero. Here's the ecosystem you're stepping into:
Merchants
Local businesses who need their customers back.
The Audience
You don't start from zero. The merchants already have customers, the venues already have crowds, the screens already have eyes. You plug into an audience that's already there.
Walk the Beat
The mission every subscription feeds — your $7 at work.
Community Screens
Venue displays carrying local stories all day.
The Platform
RezConnect and Angie — Advanced Intelligence — doing the follow-up work behind you.
ANY VERTICAL — Restaurants, salons, shops, services. The businesses change; the path doesn't. Run it where you already know people.
None of this asks you to already know how. The skill sets are learned — selling your first merchant, running the tools, leading a team. That's what the coaching is for. Many times people fail because they are not coached. Here, you won't.
